Fantasy Grounds – 5E: Tarin’s Crown

Fantasy Grounds - 5E: Tarin

About This Content
An island adventure for 6th level characters in search of plunder and fame!

The treacherous jungle island known as Crown Isle was marked on every map for danger, as the verdant vegetation itself rose up to devour many who sought landing there until the infamous Captain Jared Tarin hacked out a refuge upon the mountain’s hilly crest and made it his own. Other pirates sought to take him down, but each fell to the deadly dangers of the "Red Skewer" and his pirates, or to the still-wild jungle barely held at bay. When Tarin and his crew stole the Pirate Queen’s Pearl, a flotilla of rivals blockaded his island for months, but none have dared to seize their chance. Can your eager band of buccaneers claim fame and fortune on the deadly isle of Tarin’s Crown?

Islands of Plunder: Tarin’s Crown is a 26-page 5th Edition adventure for 6th-level PCs fraught with harrowing battles on land and aboard ship, through treacherous terrain against even more treacherous foes. It includes two sets of maps, one for the GM an unkeyed set for players, , and can be easily dropped into any seafaring 5E campaign, whether in a published pirate setting or a campaign of your own design.

Fantasy Grounds – D&D Curse of Strahd

Fantasy Grounds - D&D Curse of Strahd

About This Content
An adventure for a party of four to six adventurers levels 1 – 10.

Unravel the mysteries of Ravenloft in this dread adventure for the world’s greatest roleplaying game

Under raging storm clouds, the vampire Count Strahd von Zarovich stands silhouetted against the ancient walls of Castle Ravenloft. Rumbling thunder pounds the castle spires. The wind’s howling increases as he turns his gaze down toward the village of Barovia. Far below, yet not beyond his keen eyesight, a party of adventurers has just entered his domain. Strahd’s face forms the barest hint of a smile as his dark plan unfolds. He knew they were coming, and he knows why they came — all according to his plan. A lightning flash rips through the darkness, but Strahd is gone. Only the howling of the wind fills the midnight air. The master of Castle Ravenloft is having guests for dinner. And you are invited.

Dungeon Masters purchasing this module can use it to run the adventure with very little prep, other than reading through the adventure in advance. Some additional time should be planned to understand the Tarokka deck mechanics and how they affect the story depending on what is drawn. The random table uses the new Roll to Story mechanic so that your results will be remembered from session to session and easily referenced later.

This Module Includes

  • the entire contents of Curse of Strahd adventure
  • image handouts that can be shared with players collectively or individually
  • maps containing information for the Dungeon Master (DM) only and with all locations pre-linked to story entries which may contain additional DM notes, boxed text, encounters, images and treasure parcels
  • maps with all hidden information removed and resized for use as tactical combat maps. * The maps of the interior of Castle Ravenloft are presented in an isometric format that won’t align with a typical top-down map format.
  • tokens for many of the monsters in the module. When no token is available, a letter token is used to represent the NPC
  • XP for encounters that can be dragged to the party sheet and awarded to the players as they complete them
  • Searchable monster indexes by CR, type and in alphabetical order

Requirements: A license for Fantasy Grounds (Standard or Ultimate) or an active license subscription, with the built-in 5E Ruleset.

Recommended: one or more of the following modules: D&D Complete Core Class Pack or D&D Character Customization Pack and the D&D Complete Monster Pack
Requirements:

  • Memory: 1 GB RAM
  • DirectX: Version 9.0c
  • Network: Broadband Internet connection

Warhammer 40,000: Armageddon – Golgotha

Warhammer 40,000: Armageddon - Golgotha

About This Content
The Ork forces were ultimately defeated in the 2nd War for Armageddon, but amongst the billions of dead Orks one body was not to be found, that of Ghazghkull Mag Uruk Thraka.

Few in the Imperium heeded the warnings of Commissar Yarrick that he must be hunted down, foolishly believing that Thraka was just another Xeno who would surely be relegated to history. For Thraka though, the whole invasion of Armageddon was merely a way to test the waters – an experiment to learn how the Imperium would react against a massive invasion.

Now he is regrouping and building a new WAAAGH! on the isolated world of Golgotha. However, the venerable Yarrick has tracked him down and plans to launch a surprise strike on the world with the express aim of destroying Thraka at any cost!

Golgotha is an expansion of Warhammer 40,000: Armageddon, set 50 years after the end of the Second War for Armageddon, it is the last great battle of the cycle.

Join the Imperial forces under Yarrick’s command as they secure a footing on the Ork infested world before striking forth at Thraka’s army.

Although Yarrick has brought elements of the Steel Legion in the form of the 117th Armageddon Mechanised Infantry, the player’s core force is focused on the unwavering regiments of the 66th Mordian Infantry.

The Mordian Iron Guard are the bulk of the new units in this expansion, but the player will also eventually gain command of Yarrick himself atop the pulpit of his personal Baneblade tank, the Fortress of Arrogance.

Missions:

  • Counter-attack
  • Breakout and Pursuit

Pocket Space Empire

Pocket Space Empire

This is not a perfect game. It has many flaws. Usually games are more playable during Early Access.

But this is what you will get for sure:

  • You will feel like the Emperor (assassins, imperial court, granting audiences, rebels, imperial officials)
  • No micromanagement (no moving individual ships around or constructing boring farms, you deal with more important things)
  • Unique mechanics (if you are bored with other games and wanted to see something fresh, you won’t be disappointed)

Basics:

Turn based, 4X, empire space builder, singleplayer.

The premise behind the game.

You are the emperor, not a logistics officer. You don’t deal with low level stuff like building farms, factories or individual ships. Instead you focus on the grander scale of things. You grant audiences, make edicts, appoint imperial officials, deal with court factions and assassins, crush rebels, decide on production quotas and priorities.

In the game there is no micromanagement, late game does not drag on forever. You can play a relatively fast paced game on a huge galaxy without late game slow downs. You own hundreds of planets, thousands of ships and all this is managed on the high level by edicts and a hierarchical fleet system. The whole premise was to make the player make only the important and interesting choices leaving everything else abstracted.

Another important feature is the asymmetric nature of the game. The AI plays by different rules, and does not try to win the game. Aliens are more like creatures living in the galaxy than computer controlled players. Sometimes they can be valuable assets worthy of protection and sometimes an obstacle to overcome. Aliens are not created equal, some are primitive beasts that shall be cleansed from the face of the galaxy, some are fellow humanoids inferior to Terrans of course but considered sentient and worthy of compassion.

In short it’s a fast paced turn based space empire builder with no micromanagement, asymmetric mechanics, and focus on you as the emperor.

Development plan:

* Early Access for 3-6 months (not guaranteed, just a prediction)

* At least one new version monthly during EA (typically every 1-3 weeks), bug fixes, especially serious ones, deployed much faster.

* Post release polish for 2-4 months

* After further 9 months, and if everything is all right, an expansion (it’s almost guaranteed, I have never done an expansion before and I’m excited to try, so I’m going to make one even if it does not make any sense financially :))

* Around 24 months of post release support (bug fixes and minor adjustments)

Notes:

* There will be no saves compatibility between versions during Early Access.
Requirements:

  • OS: Win XP or better
  • Graphics: Screen resolution minimum 1024×768
  • Additional Notes: The game should run on almost any hardware, even outdated one.
