Train Simulator: Class 156 Loco Add-On

Train Simulator: Class 156 Loco Add-On

About This Content
The Class 156 DMU, also known as a Super Sprinter, was built from 1987 to 1989 by Metro-Cammell as part of the effort to replace the ageing fleet of first-generation DMUs dating back to the 1950s. Powered by 6-cylinder diesel engines, Super Sprinters are rated to run at 75mph and are used mainly for suburban and short-haul branch line duties. All units have now passed from British Rail ownership into private hands, and are currently in operation with a number of train operators including Scotrail, Northern Rail, East Midlands Trains, and National Express East Anglia.

Kerbal Space Program

Kerbal Space Program

In KSP you must build a space-worthy craft, capable of flying its crew out into space without killing them. At your disposal is a collection of parts, which must be assembled to create a functional ship. Each part has its own function and will affect the way a ship flies (or doesn’t). So strap yourself in, and get ready to try some Rocket Science!

The game offers three gameplay modes: Sandbox, in which you are free to build anything you can think of; Science Mode, which lets you perform Scientific experiments to advance the knowledge of Kerbalkind and further the available technology; and Career Mode, in which you must manage every aspect of your Space Program, including administration strategies, Crew Management, Reputation, as well as taking up Contracts to earn Funds and upgrade your Space Center Facilities (or repair them).

Add to this the ability to capture asteroids (a feature done in collaboration with NASA), Mining for resources out across the furthest reaches of the Solar System, Constructing Bases and Space Stations in and around other worlds; plus literally thousands of mods from a huge active modding community, all add up into the award-winning game that has taken the space sim genre by storm.Key Features

  • The Vehicle Assembly Building and the Space Plane Hangar allows players to build spacecraft out of any imaginable combination of parts.
  • Fully-fledged, Physics-based Space Flight Simulation ensures everything will fly (and crash) as it should.

  • Fly out to Moons and other Planets.
  • Procedural Terrain delivers detailed terrain at a vast scale. The Kerbal Planet is 600km in radius!
  • Mod-enabled, allows players to create new content and modify the game.
  • Ship systems. Keep an eye out for engine temperatures and fuel levels, and try not to explode.
  • Build ships with multiple stages, and jettison parts away as they burn out.
  • Full control over the ship’s setup allows for complex ships and advanced functionality.
  • Dock spacecraft together to build Space Stations, Massive Starships, or even surface bases on other worlds.
  • Manage your crewmembers, hire them, and send them out into space and make them into heroes.
  • Research and Develop new technologies to advance your Space Program.

Train Simulator: Network SouthEast Class 159 DMU Add-On

Train Simulator: Network SouthEast Class 159 DMU Add-On

About This Content
As part of British Rail’s popular Sprinter family of diesel multiple units, Class 159s were a popular sight on south west services from the UK’s capital to the west of England, and is now available for Train Simulator.

Built between 1989 and 1992 as Class 158 units, the Class 159 units were converted in the early 1990s to meet a demand on south west services to replace ageing Class 50 loco-hauled services. The Class 50 trains were not suited to the short distances between stops and suffered reliability issues.

In all, 22 units were converted into Class 159 units, incorporating modifications such as the addition of a First Class passenger section and cab modifications. The most notable improvement was a more powerful 400hp diesel engine that allowed the units to tackle some of the more challenging gradients with ease.

Class 159 DMUs are formed of a leading Driving Motor Composite vehicle, incorporating the first class section, a Motor Second trailer vehicle and a reversed Driving Motor Second vehicle. These three-car sets were often coupled in units of six vehicles, allowing them to carry some 424 passengers.

The BR Class 159 for Train Simulator is available in late Network SouthEast livery and reproduces the three-car DMU as it operated for Network SouthEast following inception in 1993 and before refurbishment in 2000. Also included is an InterCity Swallow liveried High Speed Train.

The locomotive is also Quick Drive compatible, giving you the freedom to drive the Network SouthEast Class 159 on any Quick Drive enabled route for Train Simulator, such as those available through Steam. Also included are scenarios specifically for the The Riviera Line: Exeter-Paignton route (available separately and required to play these scenarios).Scenarios

Three scenarios for the The Riviera Line: Exeter-Paignton route:

  • Extended Service
  • Final Sprint
  • Starcross Express

More scenarios are available on Steam Workshop online and in-game. Train Simulator’s Steam Workshop scenarios are free and easy to download, adding many more hours of exciting gameplay. With scenarios being added daily, why don’t you check it out now!
